Do You Have To Clean Kombucha Glass
Cleaning Kombucha Jar/Bottles?
Hi! I'g so excited that I constitute this subreddit! I have been homebrewing Kombucha for a couple months now and I love it! I had been cleaning my kombucha vessels with hot water and vodka, and it has worked really well, although it is a bit of an expensive fashion to clean. Recently I bought Star San and I'thousand wondering if it'south a practiced pick for cleaning or too intense? Cheers!

I just rinse with hot water... no problems. I likewise only make clean it out every other brew.

Dude just wash them like youre washing dishes, soap and water.
Save the vodka for drinking. Rubbing alcohol or bleach would have to be cheaper anyway.

Star San should work great, it'south what a lot of home beer Brewers employ.
I use the sanitize setting on my dishwasher.

Second, have ever used star-san to sanitize brewing equipment. Mainly because information technology won't fit in the dishwasher. But for smaller kombucha bottles, I but sanitize in the dishwasher.

I bought a 17" Long Bottle Brush on Amazon for 10 bucks to clean my bottles works actually well to get whatsoever specks/smudges on the inside of bottles that regular rinsing won't. Was a good investment in my buch.

I always apply hot h2o and soap followed past a vinegar rinse, but I don't see why this would non work. Perhaps a little more expensive? haha

I apply hot soapy water simply and have been brewing for over a twelvemonth.

I always leave a bit of Kombucha as a starter and fill up the jars with fresh sugar tea (at room temperature). Works very well for me, never clean anything
